![]() ![]() But thought I might mention this idea, since the backup video is glitching again. I am taking the Expy back to the dealer in a couple of weeks for an unrelated issue (bad rear shocks). This would lead me to think that the malfunction has something to do with the DASH temperature getting too high, not the backup camera itself. If I DON'T use a shade, then the backup camera goes all wonky. Worked fine through the winter months, but lo and behold, come the warmer temps and it starts doing it again.!īUT - here is what I have noticed: If I use a shade in the front window, the camera works okay when I get in and start it up. Waited a couple of months for the new camera to come in and be installed. They said there were a lot of complaints about this, but the replacement camera was on backorder. It seemed to start when the outside temps were warm/hot (We live in southeast Texas, so.duh), so I was thinking it had something to do with the camera getting too hot. Our 2018 Expedition started having the backup camera go dark and jiggly - unusable. ![]() This low-cost aftermarket CMOS camera is ideal if you're looking to save some money and for a non OEM solution. Here's my 2 cents worth, based on my experience maybe others can test this and chime in.
